Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health

Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health

Students in the Wildlife and Fisheries class are learning about biodiversity and ecosystem health by evaluating the differences of different habitats.  Students chose locations that they thought would either have high or low biodiversity and then set "bug traps" using pitfall traps.  Two days later we collected the traps and calculated the biodiversity score for the location.  Students were able to formulate a hypothesis and then test it.  Sometimes the results were really surprising!!
